Commodity Watch: Copper Futures Gain On Higher Demand

Copper futures on Friday rose 0.82 per cent to Rs 860.35 per kilogram on the back of higher spot demand.On the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper contracts for March delivery climbed Rs 7 or 0.82 per cent to Rs 860.35 per kg in a business turnover of 1,505 lots. Analysts attributed the rise in copper prices to higher bets by participants.
Aluminium futures rise on fresh bets
Aluminium prices on Friday rose Rs 1.50 to Rs 255.95 per kilogram in the futures market as speculators built up fresh positions amid a positive trend in the spot market.On the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March increased Rs 1.50 or 0.59 per cent to Rs 255.95 per kg in 381 lots. Analysts said fresh positions created by traders amid demand from consuming industries supported aluminium prices in the futures market.
Zinc futures rise on high demand
Zinc prices on Friday rose Rs3.15 to Rs274.45 per kilogram in the futures trade amid a pick-up in spot demand. On MCX, zinc contracts for March delivery traded higher by Rs3.15 or 1.16 per cent at Rs274.45 per kg with a business turnover of 444 lots.
